Hiking and walks

In winter, two magnificent snowshoe walks are mapped out. The routes are easy to meet, with a duration of about fifteen minutes, and ‘under the viaduct’, lasting about 45 minutes;

In summer, a multitude of walks and hikes are possible from Montenvers, including:

  • Crossing the northern balconies: allowing you to reach the intermediate station of the Aiguille du Midi cable car, at Plan de l’Aiguille (+/-6.2km and 550m of difference in altitude)
  • Ascent or descent – at Montenvers : either through the forest near the cogwheel train route and the Caillet chalet, or by the more technical path from the QZ des Praz, via the Mottes hut.* Forbes signal: Magnificent ride from the top of the Montenvers train! You can reach the famous Signal Forbes at the top of which you can contemplate the Mer de Glace ice basin and the Aiguilles Rouges. (Round trip, 3.5 km and 300m of elevation gain)
