2025: Glacier Preservation Awareness year

At the initiative of the UN, 2025 has been declared the International Year of Glacier Preservation.

The Chamonix valley is greatly affected by this problem, as it is home to the second largest glacier in the Alps and the largest in France, along with the Mer de Glace.
Perched at an altitude of 1913 metres, this colossus with feet of clay, nearly 7 km long, has become a global symbol of global warming.
